Stanground is a suburb of Peterborough, a city in the county of Cambridgeshire in the East of England. Stanground is located to the north of Peterborough city centre, and is predominantly a residential area. It is a relatively new development, with much of the housing having been built in the latter half of the 20th century. Stanground Village and its original church is mentioned in the Domesday survey in 1086. The Stanground Manor house dating from the 13th century, was granted to Princess Elizabeth (Queen Elizabeth I) in 1550, before being destroyed by fire in 1899.
